“Game-Winning Strategies to Meet the Challenges of Health Care Reform”

DataPath Administrative Services
Annual Client Appreciation Conference
Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Learn “Game-Winning Strategies to Meet the Challenges of Health Care Reform” by joining DataPath Administrative Services (DPAS) for our annual Client Appreciation Conference on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at The Peabody Hotel in Little Rock.

Headlining this year’s conference will be John R. Hickman, partner and head of the Health Benefits Practice for Alston + Bird LLP of Atlanta, Georgia, whose presentation will feature a “hands-on” interactive discussion of the issues impacting employers the most.

Earlier this Spring, Congress enacted the most sweeping health care reform ever, legislation that will impact every employer-provided health plan beginning as early as September 23rd.  Federal agencies have issued thousands of pages of new regulations over the summer affecting how you structure your health benefit plan.

John will provide an in-depth analysis and employer-centric discussion of the far-reaching Affordable Care Act and what it means for your plans, including a practical, “hands-on” discussion of the issues impacting employers the most such as:

  • What do I need to do now: An implementation plan walk-through focusing on what needs to be done prior to your next plan renewal and required notices for open enrollment
  • What current employer plan designs are most “at risk”?
  • What are the “Top 10 Plan design considerations” that can help keep health care costs under control?
  • What is a “Grandfathered Plan” and how can I keep the benefits I have without losing grandfather plan status?

John has been a pioneer in the consumer-directed health care arena, working closely with health plans, financial institutions and employers as well as the IRS, Treasury and DOL in developing guidance for tax-favored health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs).  He has been called upon by benefits and trade associations to testify before the IRS and DOL on issues affecting health and welfare benefit plans including HIPAA, cafeteria plan regulations, DOL claims procedures and the HIPAA health care privacy regulations.

Additionally, John has served as counsel to major insurers and employers including Federal, State, and Local governmental entities, major financial institutions and retailers, and national health care providers among others.  He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers magazine and Who’s Who Legal in the employee benefits area and has lectured widely and published articles on HIPAA, ERISA litigation, cafeteria and health plan issues. John also is co-author of the Cafeteria Plans Manual, HIPAA Portability and Privacy, and Consumer-Driven Health Care (published by the Employee Benefits Institute of America).

We look forward to sharing this important day with you.  Please plan to join us!  Continental breakfast and buffet lunch will be served.

There is no charge for DPAS clients to attend, but seating is limited.  Register now by calling your DPAS account manager or Ben Robbins, DPAS Director, at 501-687-6954 (toll free 877-685-0655).
